PHOENIX was formed in 1998 as a spin-off of the National Institute for the Physics of the Matter (INFM). It is a NTBF (New Technology Based Firm) set up to apply the knowledge and competence acquired in the fields of spectroscopy and optics to the productive reality. By an agreement with INFM, Phoenix may have access to the instrumentation present at INFM associates laboratories and particularly at the Laboratory for Ultraviolet and X-ray Optical Research (LUXOR) in the University of Padua

Our Mission
Our mission is to apply the knowledge and competence acquired by the founders and researchers in the field of spectroscopy and optics to productive reality. The competencies of PHOENIX are in the field of spectroscopy, optical detectors and optics in general, in the spectral range from infrared to X-ray, laser systems and their applications. A particular competence is in the field of the detection of ultra-low light signals with photon counting techniques both with single and arrays detectors.

Market Opportunities
Optical technologies (spectroscopy, diagnostic, sensors ...) may have several applications in the productive world, for example, quality control by means of non-invasive diagnostics (X-ray technologies, spectroscopic colour discrimination etc.), optical on-line monitoring with real time feedback concerning the evolution of processes, laser systems for machining and gas monitoring.

PHOENIX proposes the expertise of its researchers to all enterprises which desire to compete in the global market with innovative and high-tech solutions.
